Alfred Hitchcock's On the Waterfront

A famous Alfred Hitchcock movie with a famous watery motif… it can only be the infamous “shower scene” from Psycho… or can it? Think again, says Roger, who’s hitting the Canal towpath again tomorrow (Sunday 15th August). Here he is…

“After Richard IV’s excellent Hitchcock Walk, you may be itching for a sequel.

However, like all the best thrillers – just when you think you’ve seen it all… There’s more! A famous Hitchcock film location is just the start of it.

Then – the legend of Boudicca is around here, with murder, slaughter, and one of the biggest mysteries in British history.

Now for something completely different – after seeing places where Thames Sailing barges used to glide past, how about a starting place for balloon flights?

And even before reaching Hackney, we’ve passed through another well-known spy film location.

The Regent’s Canal – King’s Cross to Hitchcock’s Hackney Walk meets at King’s Cross station taxi rank on Sunday (15th August) at 2.30 p.m.”
