Have Another Cup. Go on. Just One. Go on. Go On Go On Go On. #13 In Our Best Cuppa in London Series

Daily Constitutional editor Adam weighs in with…

In deepest North London, over at Muswell Hill, my personal favourite tea shop has plied its trade since 1897. W. Martyn of Muswell Hill sells an hypnotic range of loose leaf and bag teas – Orange Pekoe, anyone? In fact whenever I’m blogging, my favourite Cornishware pot is seldom very far away. Today I have a pot of loose leaf Assam on the go. For me, Assam is the most tea-ish of teas. Whenever the thought of a cup of tea comes into my head, it is always Assam that I crave.

The shop is fitted out with some of the original mahogany cabinets and jars from 1897 and smells like heaven – a cocktail of freshly ground coffee beans, teas and dried fruit.

The teas are sold in very pleasing boxes emblazoned with the Victorian logo of this venerable little London business.

Martyn’s website is HERE and you can visit them at 135 Muswell Hill Broadway, London N10 3RS

We’d like to hear your tea and coffee suggestions, too. Drop us a line at the usual address.
