Adam writes a few
words on our colleague Graham who passed away recently…
I had company at my
shoulder last Tuesday night. Our late friend Graham was with me every step of
the way. Ghosts of the Old City was his beat, it was his walk…
Tonight's Ghosts of the Old
City tour with @londonwalks is dedicated
to my fellow Scot Graham. Tomorrow I'll be wearing a
tie.

Graham always wore a
tie. When a fellow guide passed comment at a London Walks summer party, Graham
replied, "I couldn't go out without a tie. I'd feel undressed."
In his honour I wore a
tie on Wednesday night, leading the Rock'n'Roll London Walk around Graham's
beloved West End…

… Graham loved the West End – theatre
and a good lunch. Was it my imagination or did all the restaurants in town dip
their lights before first covers? They jolly well should have done.
I'm doing the Ghosts walk
again tonight. It's a walk I very much look forward to leading – the walkers
really get into the spirit of it, no pun intended. I inherited it from Graham a
few years ago when he decided to ease off on the night time walks.
It's a great walk. It's
Graham's walk.
It will always be
Graham's walk. In that way he'll continue to bring pleasure to Londoners the
streets of The City where he worked.
Thanks, Graham, I'll
see you at half-past seven tonight.
