DC Special Correspondent and London Walks pen David Tucker writes…
Richard III's’s just blogged about the new Winter 2015-16 London
Walks leaflet and the Crime Museum Uncovered exhibition at the Museum of
London (see earlier post HERE).
In his review of the exhibition he talks about Ruth Ellis (and doesn’t
just tell, he shows – there it is, the murder weapon, the gun, well, a photo of
the gun) gunning down David Blakely in the Magdala pub in Hampstead. Star
London Walks guide Karen (no, saying
that is not pointing the finger at – there’s a whole constellation of “star
London Walks guides”), anyway, star London Walks guide Karen is creating and will be rolling out – at 2.30 pm on Saturday, May 7
from Belsize Park Tube – a new walk
called South Hampstead – Keats Cadenced, Karen Conducted,
Wisteria-Wreathed, Sunny Cinderella Village. One of the stops will be
those bullet-pocked tiles outside the Magdala pub. And, yes, that walk is
trailed in the new, Winter 2015-16 London Walks leaflet Adam (and London Walker Jem Jaye) blogged about, also earlier today.
And why then? Why May 7?
Take a look at the photo below… With London Walks words mean what
they say [“Free”, for example].
Or “Wisteria-Wreathed.”
A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
