#London Walks Guides' Tips For Winter Walkers No.5: Queen Victoria's Cold Cure

Outside in all weathers, the London Walks guides know a thing or two about battling the cold weather.

In this short series we're sharing our winter weather tips with our lovely London Walkers, a hardy bunch who join us rain or sleet in the winter months.

Here's Katy on how to beat the sniffles…

Queen Victoria was prescribed cocaine as a cure for her colds. Then again it was by the same doctor that told Victoria it was quite possible for a virgin to get pregnant!

Best cold cure I know is fresh lemon, fresh lime, freshly ground ginger and honey all mixed together and granny would tell me to gargle a mix of TCP and water!

It is estimated that adults will suffer two to three colds per year, while children, whose immune systems are still learning to fight cold viruses, can suffer two to nine colds annually.

Katy, aka Bloodline, is our juv lead. She's young, gifted and beautiful. Let alone to the manner born. And if you want to see Katy in action, well, a click here takes you to the little video trailer film maker Jon Klein's made of her Village in Piccadilly Walk.

And here's Katy in action in the new London Walks film…

A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at
