Delighted to see this old Tweet of mine getting another outing this week thanks to the folk at Tell Tale theatre company…
Fave #London Book? @AdamScottG picks The Austerity Games by Janie Hampton: https://t.co/28W2yf9kGI @janieoxford pic.twitter.com/w2jeem1xDs— London Walks (@londonwalks) March 8, 2016
The Austerity Games by Janie Hampton is one of my favourite London books of all. Click here for my review, first posted on The Daily Constitutional back in January 2012.
Which is why I was delighted to find out that it has been turned into a play.
The Austerity Games runs (pun intended!) at Kentish Town Community Centre on the 19th, 20th & 21st August 2016 as part of the Camden Fringe Festival. You can book tickets here: www.camdenfringe.com
Good luck to Tell Tale, and all involved with the Camden Fringe this year. Yet ANOTHER reason not to bother with Edinburgh in August (only joking, Edinburgh… well, HALF joking… back in 2011 I blogged 26 reasons to stay in London every August, the Camden Fringe was one of 'em and most of the reasons remain valid! Catch up with that earlier post HERE.)
A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
