Carlo Gatti, Swiss-born business man, hailing from the Italian speaking region of Switzerland, as well as being an ice importer this multi-tasking fellow was involved in music hall, was an early ice cream seller, opened a European-style cafe restaurant in London and exhibited a chocolate-making machine at the great Exhibition of 1851.
